Review of "Greg Griffin"

By: Wayne Klinger
ne of the newest guitar heroes I have making an appearance on a much-needed F.A.R.OUT! update. This is a good album if you're a fan of "Riff-heavy" Rock. I'm confused since 10 tracks are named and the CD actually has 11, so I'm hoping to get these titles right in some way but the albm is a short 35 minutes and is somewhat J.D. Bradshaw, Dave Uhrich and a tamer Daniel Wentworth. Of course there's differences with the songwriting and Greg's way of hitting quite a few genres of music but you could say the main meat is Rock. A nicely done CD visually which I think could have been produced better since it has that shallow "demo" sound; just depends what you like I guess. Just sounds like it was done on a home 8-track sort of thing and put right to CD.
Back to the music, fans of funk and Blues will enjoy tunes like "While We're Waiting" and a couple serious acoustic tunes on here despite the shortness, "Miss You Already" and "The Day After". There's an ending track but I call it the "no name track". The ones that rock the best are, "Stupid On A Stupid Day", "Come Visit Awhile", "Blast" and "The Daze Inbetween". This guy definately is talented and something a bit different to listen to with all the players out there in the world.
