"Go Off!"

The Story
Guitarists Marty Friedman and Jason Becker "Go Off!" on musical tangents previously unexplored in contemporary metal with the help of powerhouse drummer Deen Castronovo, bassist Jimmy O'Shea and vocalist Peter Marrino. "Go Off!" features all the scorching solos and double leads you would expect after the Cacophony debut, Speed Metal Symphony, woven into a frame work of superbly crafted vocal songs. The title track is another clasic Becker/Friedman instrumental, with a handful of great twists and turns. As Jason Becker remembers, "The song I am most proud of is "Images". It was inspired by Debussy. I had written words for it, but they were so silly Peter couldn't make anything out of them. There are some magical moments on this CD. Deen's drumming is incredible."
