Jason Jordan
"Genuine Vinyl"
|
From Nashville, Tennessee comes the country rock twang of guitarist Jason Jordan, who offers eight instrumental cuts and one vocal cover ("Rollin' In My Sweet Baby's Arms") on his EP-length CD, "Genuine Vinyl". Jordan uses chickin' pickin', blues and country techniques in his compositions, which showcase his command of the Telecaster alongside bandmates Will Mandell (bass), Steve Emahaiser (drums) and Steve Paxton (keys). "Genuine Vinyl" treats include the rollicking "Steel Guitar Rag", an homage to Jerry Reed on "Almost Amos" and the bluesy "Doghouse" (with genuine dog barks). A great addition to the instrumental collection lacking any country/rock/blues gee-tar.
