ates Of Doom is a quality first release from this self taught, Italian guitarist. Melody oozes from every track on this 5 song set of instrumentals. Fabrizio puts forth an array of styles, all which showcase heavily on the melodic side. This young guitarist paints beautiful landscapes with his music, utilizing his considerable mastery of guitar technique and compositional structure. His use of tonal variations is unique and very evident throughout all the tracks. Everything is hear from full on shred to soaring exotic textures. Highlights include the songs "Gates of Doom with it's majestic riff and very cool speed of light soloing and the chimey "Blue Tears". At times fabrizio's playing reminds me of Joe Satriani or Eric Johnson. He puts the influences of the masters to good use while carving out his own styleistic voice. All the songs on "Gates of Doom" have some awesome keyboard passages that help to create a strong dramatic feel to the music. This is an absolute jem of a first release - Fabrizio is a guitarist, composer to watch out for.
