Rock
The music on Feast Of Jams, Jellies, Preserves was made by three friends from Long Island who first started playing together in a progressive hard rock band during the early 90s. For the past ten years they have gotten together regularly (they try to play every week) to jam. They play only improvised music because they're too lazy to write or work on songs. The trio refers to their improvisations as: Musical Intercourses Spontaneously Realized. J.A.M. Authority describes their sound as "John Coltrane meets Black Sabbath." This is not the typical jam music of endless solos, based on running a riff or chord progression into the ground for 20 minutes. This is music in which sonic-seeds sprout into sound-trees before your very ears, and where direction-moods (and keys) change on a dime or organically evolve (and mutate). And musical doors are flung open to reveal newly realized soundscapes of beauty, intensity, subtlety, dark-light, joy-sad, love-spirit, and majesty. After more than a decade of improvising together, the trio has developed a telepathic musical style similar to that of great jazz groups. And while the band certainly has jazz overtones in their sound, they first and foremost definitively Rock. Instrumental Guitar (Electric/Rock), total running time, 70:11
