itti has chops for days, but it is his pen that is most impressive. This disc is full of great songs, and it just so happens that a great bass player wrote them. On Adam's last album Balance, we were introduced to his phenomenal tapping. On Evidence he pulls out the other double p word: slapping. Not only is Adam a technical monster, the tones that he caresses out of his basses are things of beauty in themselves. His hi-fi solo tone is there, but it is his groove tones that stand out. Like Balance, Evidence is very well recorded, and Adam has once again assembled a top-notch cast of players to fulfill his musical visions. From the palm muted groove of "Millenium" to the snappy jazz of "Broken, pt. 2" this disc has it all. Evidence has lifted Nitti to the upper echelon of modern bass players, and in doing so, has raised the bar for future bass led projects.
