Guitarist Tim Simmons's 1995 release, Eternal Dream, is a one-man showcase featuring flowing, soaring melodies, breath-taking solos, tight arrangements and high fidelity recording -- you'll find all of the good stuff here. The nine minute title track kicks off the CD, offering romantic, powerful, passionate electric guitar. Fusion fans will appreciate "Blind Bartimaeus", with its jazzy changes and overdriven lead flurries. "The Gathering" tells the story of ancient forces clash in the last battle for power -- from the high cliffs overlooking the battlefield, the guitar wails an ominous note that carries on the wind, signalling the time for battle has come. Simmons' cover of Lennon and McCartney's "Eleanor Rigby" is a high-tech, '90s-era instrumental version which finds Simmons whipping out several killer solos. Eternal Dream offers six-string lovers more of what they really want -- guitar on a silver platter. Instrumental Guitar (Electric/Rock), total running time, 47:11 - Tim Simmons @ iTunes!
