Cyril Achard Quintet
"Essensuel"
|
"Essensuel" represents French guitarist Cyril Achard's first acoustic recording, featuring a dramatic change in the style of music normally associated with Achard (electric progressive). Here you'll find a creative blending of jazz and pop styles. On this album, the listener can also look forward to great songs and melodies on one side, and impressive performances and improvisations on another. This is a composition work, written for the guitar, with the voices (Nicolas Martin and Fred Pasqua) appearing at times to improve the guitar lines, and perfectly placed piano parts nestled within the guitar arrangements. The mood is sensual, the color warms, the playing very sensitive. On "Essensuel", you will discover a new face of Cyril Achard's playing - maybe his real one.
