veteran band of six years, this trio plays a serious instrumental fusion (hence the band name) or in straght words, "thinking man's music" (more of that later with Scott Jones). Jazz/Blues with Guitar Fusion and Rock are the main elements but the type of music that needs to be carefully listened to by serious listeners only...not the barflies or Nu-Metal fans by any means cuz they won't get it whatsoever and make some asswipe remarks.
This CD is just oozing with fill-ins, time and signature changes that tease your senses and I like to call them a sister version of Niacin with Attention Deficit, Liquid Tension Experiment and Transatlantic with old school Yes (no vocals). The Rock stuff is there as mentioned but there's also plenty of acoustic and flamenco guitar for those who dig guitar diversity and various guitar styles. Add layers of precise Jazz/Fusion/Blues with elaborate songwriting and musicmanship skills, this whole cd works well and everything is blended in such a crafty way, you can't stop listening. This isn't a simple pancake breafast you make in the morning, this requires study, precisional timing and severe concentration to pull this off. Definately not like today's standards when people slap 2-3 chord stuff together and keep the monotony to an unbearing level. Confusion would disgrace alot of these bands and at the same time can be appreciated by the avid listeners and players of the genre. One word can only describe this CD - perfection.
