letter emember Saturday mornings sitting watching cartoons. Remember those zany background compositions that spurred the "toones" on - Electric Cartoon Music from Hell is all of those wild, almost impossible to actually play compositions come to life. The brain child of Todd Duane (Guitar / Bass), Peter Wildoer (Drums) and Lale Larson (Kayboards) the CD features some of the most bizarre fret burning shred to be released this side of Looney Tunes.

This is a very stylistic release with a unique vision that combines elements of jazz, fusion, electronica, shred, metal, prog, you name it. It's all included here on Electric Cartoon Music from Hell. This is serious shred with over the top tempo grooves that only the fleetest of finger would even attempt to play - these guys do it with no overdubs, or electronic manipulation, just smoldering, jaw dropping technical brilliance. Each member of this unique band is of the highest musical caliber, brining a tour-de-force of influences and individual virtuosity to the table. All compositions featured on this excellent release are designed to keep the listener on edge. This is impact music (no pun intended) that conjures up a variety of emotional responses from all out hypertension to uncontrollable laughter. The CD is pact with smoldering performances that make it one of the great listening experiences of all time! Musical boundaries are stretched about as far as they can be stretched all the while maintaining musical coherence. In a world full of "repeat-rewind-repeat" musicians and musical statements it is refreshing to come across a group of prolific musicians so willing to push the limits.

Highlights of the CD include all 10 tracks - they all shine brightly. Here are my favorites:

"Fletcher the Mouse" - the Road Runner meets Mr. Potato head on a stroll down the autobahn. Blasting out an ultra speedy groove with some serious contrasting instrumentation. The track is packed with some super fast, I mean insanely revved up sequences that play counterpoint to the main theme of the composition. I especially like the reference that occurs at 3:10 to Deep Purples "Smoke on The Water", Fletcher is one cool dude!

"Gee-Wiz-Guitar Solo" - a way cool guitar extravaganza that showcases Todd Duane's insane chops and tasty licks. Complete with computer like noises and shred-till-yaw-die face melting riffs.

"Brainscrapper" - The CD's standout track, an epic fusion masterpiece with a catchy melody and great soloing by all members. Excellent intertwining of instrumentation makes this a serious musical statement.

Electrocution 250 boldly goes where no mere mortals would dare tread. A revolutionary statement "Cartoon Music from Hell" is a masterpiece of originality. This entire CD will blow the doors off of the prog-jazz-fusion crowd worldwide. A must have for the serious music connoisseur.
