Review of "Ego Decimation Profile"

ichael Harris' CD "Ego Decimation Profile" is an excellent instrumental CD with a strong neoclassical sound. The songwriting is very good and the songs don't fall into the "fast solos over Blackmore riffs" trap. There is a lot of attention to songwriting and interesting song structures. Michael brings some great funk and fusion elements to the mix in the song "Julius Seizure", my favorite song on this album. The excellent neoclassical songs like the opener "Forewarning" and "Terminus Epic" are standouts in the genre with an emphasis on haunting melodies and interesting changes.
