pic pic The best part about an Internet site is that it's a two-way pipe. The interaction between the individual or organization creating the site, and the people visiting and using the site, is enhanced by tools such as e-mail, surveys, feedback forms, forums and other forms of user commentary. Communication can happen in an instant -- it's not necessary anymore to pull out a sheet of paper, write a letter, address an envelope, stamp it, and mail it to a newspaper, magazine, book editor, radio station or TV station.

In addition, no web site is ever finished. Every web site you've ever visited is a work in progress (that's why those "Under Construction" graphics are so redundant). There is a high probability that good ideas offered to good sites will someday be implemented -- sooner rather than later.

We've gotten some excellent ideas from visitors over the years. We would love to hear your ideas on how the site can be improved. We'll read your comments. Honest.

Being a fan of instrumental guitar music can sometimes be a lonely hobby. A lot of you are out there with no one in your local area who is into the same kind of music. There is little opportunity for interaction or "word of mouth" to find out about new or undiscovered instrumental guitar CDs.

So that's the main reason behind Guitar Nine's Word of Mouth forum. When you buy a CD from us and listen to it, you now have information that someone else may want. You have a partially objective, partially subjective, personal opinion about the music on that CD. We understand that you're not a professional music critic, but we're asking that you take a minute or two and share your information with the rest of the instrumental guitar community. We know you can't see or hear your fellow guitar fans, but they are out there, and they are hungry for information.

Another way to participate is by helping new artists discover Guitar NIne. There are some guitarists with web sites on the outer edges of the Internet who have benefited directly by one of our customers contacting them and telling them about the Guitar Nine site. We have the ability to reach a lot more fans than any single artist site can, so it's been a great win-win-win situation for guitar lovers, the artists and Guitar Nine.

It bears repeating - we live in an Information Age. We have some information, and you have some information. We'll share ours with you, and we hope you'll choose do the same. The Internet has given us a golden opportunity to do this, so let's not blow it.

Any ideas that anyone has to enhance the exchange of information, please, let me know. Without your participation, the site will still manage to carry on. But with your participation, the site will thrive. See the difference?
