ichael Harris, while showing he is of the highest caliber of guitarist, seems more concerned in becoming a progressive artist than a well-known guitarist. He is as good as the very best in the progmetal genre, and perhaps he wisely decided against having a vocalist, after having heard many a fine musical projects ruined by average or bad singing. Each CD I have heard by M.H. seems to be a natural improvement over the previous effort, which can pose a problem in the future, as he is creating some great music on these releases. This music could very easily have enlisted the option of vocals based of the structures of the songs, though none is really necessary, his keen melodical sense, and virtuosity is all that the songs need. Intent on creating music that devises the true progressive standards, his complicated rhythms, time signature changes, dissonant harmonies, and technical choreography, lead his band members through instrumental madness. Michael Harris is one of the many maniacal guitarists playing instrumental progressive fusion metal, though he is amoung the few who are able to perpetuate new progressive music without sounding he is releasing the same album over and over like the many others. Strongly recommended for those into: Greg Howe, Richie Kotzen, Tony MacAlpine, Jason Becker.
