Review of "Controlled By Radar"
|
By: Wayne Klinger
was surprised to see this was a 2-in-1 CD set as a full album but if you're familiar with these guys, they just can't stop writing music until someone turns out the light on them (they probably have flashlights hidden somewhere and a power generator so they can keep recording if someone pulled the plug on them!!). This Prog-Rock, Jazz-Fusion trio churns out a total of 22 tracks of just precisional playing... nobody takes the spotlight on these songs; every guy has an important role to play. If you like perplexing arrangements and music to just make you think and ponder, "Controlled By Radar" is your one way ticket. Fans of Gordian Knot (reviewed in this section as well), Allan Holdsworth and Niacin will find this to be quite tremendous while one-track ears will not get it in the least.
