rank Gambale is a guitarist that reaches to the highest pinnacles of performance, tone and compostion. He has left a legacy of stunning performances both as a band leader and with some other notable fusion bands(Elektric Band, Vital Information, Gambale/Smith/Hamm, etc) as a member. He has developed his own sound, by mastering sweep, legato, and various other techniques that often boggle the eyes and minds of concert goers. Here on this release Frank Gambale carries on his tradition of prior solo CDs by staying with his formula of melodic composition, where one may think it would be a fretboard gymnastics display, he really takes his compositional approach seriously, and leaves the soloing aspects to minimal interludes in each song. He is always surrounding himself with great musicians, and each gets their spot in the limelight, though in the capacity of a rhythm section carring out the well crafted tunes. The music has a contemporary pop/fusion vibe, not unlike that of Steely Dan, Pages, and a nice mix of hard fusion, ala Tribal Tech and Elektric Band, which gives it a timeless sound that will transcend all the fad genres that will come and go.
