Review of "Code 3"

ery rarely do I get any real jazz/fusion with the exception of when I did the Jeff Kollman project, Cosmosquad. I came across this trio from California whom are interesting to describe on this 10-track CD unless you are familiar with the above mentioned and Billy Sheehan's Niacin without the excess keyboards. Definately 70's influence as well and everyone plays an important role in the band as they play their individual instrument with conviction. I would like to use the term "aggressive" for how they go about their playing as I can relate people for each instrument. The bass sounds like Randy Coven style, drums fall into the Peart/Chambers realm and guitars in the Kollman/Holdsworth front; very unique and diverse for the listener let alone serious musicians who thrive on this sort of musicmanship; it's all here.
