Review of "Chrome"

By: Wayne Klinger
ere's another new guitarist I'm not familiar with and this is his third solo release already. I have to get a new means of getting these people right from the debut! Moving on, this 13-track CD shws Randy doing soe wonderful shred and techniques on the guitar. He's reminiscent of Daniel Wentworth, Angus Young, Guy Mann-Dude and Dave Mustaine (yes we have great rhythms here!). Throw all these players in a whiskey keg and age it for several years, you get Randy Pevler; smooth as silk with some bite and very fluid and rich. The music falls into a progressive and aggressive style of Hard Rock/Metal; the stuff you take on the road with you on a long cruise on an open highway doing about 90mph with no cares in the world because there's not a soul in site; just you and the open highway.
A noted name within this 3-piece is ex-White Lion bassist, James LoMenzo whom curently is with David Lee Roth in case the name rings a bell. The talent level on this disc is right up there with the "big boys" within these ranks and the constant flurry of new guitarists coming out by the boatloads. Randy Pevler should not be overlooked.
