his is the second offering by this fusion all-star band, and this time they brought in legendary keybordist Brian Auger, and while this may seem to be a clash of styles, what with shredder MacAlpine, fusioneers Chambers, and Brunel, Auger seemingly isn't an obvious choice given his background as a organ player in a band that was borderline R&B, with a hint of smooth jazz possibly. Yet low and behold this twist is a magnificent addition to the original line-up, and they never sounded better. The blended dual melodies are an example of this, it's such an unusual sound to hear the metallic/fusion stylings of MacAlpine, being played simultaneously in and out of harmony with Augers classic Hammond sound, also proving his chops are up to speed with the virtuoso guitarist. Of course having Dennis Chambers and Bunny Brunel as your backbone means the structure is solid, always in a state of perpetual attack. This is yet another fine release by the people at Tone Center, who are dedicated to keeping high intensity progressive fusion alive.
