Will Landrum is a driven and expressive musician/guitarist currently based in Herndon, Virginia (U.S.A.) who denotes his playing style as heavy rock instrumental with blues and neo-classical influences, as a music fan can hear on his most recent recording, "Living Digits". His workhorse guitar is a Scalloped neck guitar. Landrum has been playing guitar since 1980, and unreservedly relates his career objective, "Just a compositional journey, and documenting that journey with recordings as I go along."
When asked to disclose his top choice for an effect for the guitar, Landrum resolutely answered, "Distortion," and outlined his musicial goals, "Music is very spiritual by nature. I want to penetrate the listener's soul. To evoke a tear with a phrase. To make the hair on your arm stand up. My music really moves me. I hope that it can be percieved in this way by others as well." He keeps open the possibility to, at some point, study movie soundtrack production, and is at the moment listening to his own music ("I'm not really listening to others these days. I just want to use my past influences and forge my own unique style"). His most important gratification? "Composing and recording. There's no better feeling than playing back a rough or final mix of something that you alone have created," he muses confidently.
Landrum winds up by mentioning long-term and forthcoming endeavors insightfully, by saying, "I am currently working on making my web site larger. I want to have it contain as much guitar playing information that I have experienced myself, in order to help others achieve the level that they are working toward. At the same time, I am writing new tunes for my next CD release."
Landrum's discography (available here at Guitar Nine Records) includes one solo album ("Living Digits").
