Travis Larson is a nimble-fingered, committed six-stringer from San Luis Obispo, California (U.S.A.) who reveals his style as instrumental rock/fusion, as one can clearly experience on his latest album, "Suspension". His favorite guitar is an Ibanez RG570. Larson has played guitar since 1988, and candidly acknowledges his career aspiration, "To keep building a fan base, selling records and playing my music."
When requested to reveal his ultimate effect for the guitar, Larson answered back with, "Reverb," and then brought up his musicial goals, "To keep growing and improving as a composer. To lift people's spirits and hopefully inspire them." He hopes to one day study classical music, and is at this time listening to Mike Keneally and Beer for Dolphins, Los Lobotomys and the Stones ("Always and forever"). His primary fulfillment? "Really loyal fans and pulling nearly impossible parts," he affirms conclusively.
Larson concludes by mentioning continuing and future undertakings succinctly, by saying, "Writing material for the next CD and continuing to promote the current one. "
Guitar Nine Records visitors have compared the playing style and/or musical approach of Travis Larson to guitarists such as Steve Morse, Eric Johnson and others.
Larson's discography (available here at Guitar Nine Records) includes several recording projects (Travis Larson Band "Travis Larson Band", Travis Larson Band "Suspension", Travis Larson Band "Burn Season", Travis Larson Band "Rate Of Change", Travis Larson Band "Rate Of Change Live").
