Tony Spada is a seasoned and skillful axe wielder currently based in Hartford, Connecticut (U.S.A.) who represents his playing style as classical/jazz/celtic/heavy fusion, as a music fan can now experience on his most recent recording, "The Human Element". His most utilized guitars consist of a Modified Fender Lead II and a Gibson Chet Atkins classical. Spada has been playing guitar since 1970, and straight from the shoulder discloses his career objective, "As long as I have fans and a record deal I will continue to write and
release albums and tour."
When asked to finally make public his favorite or most used effect for the guitar, Spada unflinchingly stated, "Rocktron Intellifex," and continued by outlining his musicial goals, "I try to feature the guitar in many settings. I write music mainly in movements, and in that way the guitar is allowed to be very expressive on many levels." He maintains a desire to, at some point, study to develop keyboard skills, and is presently listening to Segovia, Yes, Bill Connors and Steve Hackett. His principal gratification? "Getting recognition for my work and selling records, I love the fans," he explains absolutely.
Spada wraps up by mentioning current and approaching endeavors enthusiastically, by saying, "My musical day begins at 8 AM. when I can practice, write and record new material. I am recording as a session guitarist for an upcoming California label, Clearlight Records release and am in preproduction of the reunion album by my former progressive rock band "Holding Pattern". This album is slated for a 2006 release on Surveillance Records.
