Tom Bevan is a vital and highly regarded six-stringer currently based in Fountain Valley (Orange County), California (USA) who reveals his playing style as rock, jazz fusion, folk, as a listener can readily experience on his most recent album, "Clazz". His most utilized guitars include a Fender Strat and a Gibson 335 hollow body. Bevan has been playing guitar since 1966, and with no holds barred declares his career aspiration, "Put out a solo CD and keep teaching. Already done enough touring."
When requested to divulge his one essential effect for the guitar, Bevan came back with, "Reverb," and then pointed out his musicial goals, "Continued work on my compositional efforts. Help bring the guitar out of the three chord rock syndrome is keeps falling into, create and improvise melodic content that lets the instrument stand out on its own and be noticed as more than a noise box the record industry can use to sell more records. " He fervently hopes to one day study production and recording engineering, and is presently listening to Steely Dan and the Red Hot Chili Peppers (the list goes on and on). His primary fulfillment? "Live playing when it's tight, funky and it grooves," he declares categorically.
Bevan concludes by listing current and approaching undertakings succinctly, by saying, "Currently with the Big Shots, a jump swing/blues band. More work with Razz."
Bevan's discography (available here at Guitar Nine Records) includes one recording project (Razz "Clazz").
