Tobias Hurwitz is an accomplished and highly regarded six-stringer currently based in Baltimore, Maryland (U.S.A.) who reveals his playing style as funk/rock/metal/jazz, as a listener can readily experience on his most recent album, "Painted Sky". photoHis most utilized guitar is a PRS Custom. Hurwitz has been playing guitar since 1977, and with no holds barred declares his career aspiration, "My goals are to get better at playing and to share my knowledge with others. Also, to continue writing instructional materials and keep recording CDs."

When requested to divulge his one essential effect for the guitar, Hurwitz came back with, "Wah," and then pointed out his musicial goals, "Speed and tricks are not nearly as important as good songs, the groove and emotional content." He fervently hopes to one day study with Steve Vai, and is presently listening to Phil Sudo, Sean Malone, Maxwell and P-Funk. His primary fulfillment? "Seeing good things happen for my friends and family," he declares categorically.

Hurwitz concludes by listing current and approaching undertakings succinctly, by saying, "My song, "Zen Guitar", just won a contest and will be featured on "The Music Monthly Compilation CD". I now endorse Budda amps, PRS guitars, and Ernie Ball strings. I also have two new instructional books coming out soon, one on guitar tone and one on classic rock."
