T.D. Clark is a dazzling, altogether exciting six-stringer from Aurora, Illinois (U.S.A.) who reveals his style as rock, shred, Latin, and a bit of classical/fingerstyle, as one can clearly experience on his latest album, "Next Big Adventure". His favorite guitars include an ESP MH-301 and an ESP EX-351. Clark has played guitar since 1978, and freely declares his career aspiration, "After achieving all of my initial goals, my next of set of goals includes
expanding my teaching business to include 30 to 40 park districts (up from the 17 I
have now), release several more CDs and continue to develope artists at my recording
studio, Studio T."
When requested to reveal his ultimate effect for the guitar, Clark came back with, "Reverb," and then brought up his musicial goals, "I want the non-musician to enjoy my songs as well as the musician." He fervently hopes to one day study Jazz/fusion with Mike Stern or Frank Gambale, and is at this time listening to Avenged Sevenfold, The Click 5 and Paco De Lucia. His primary fulfillment? "I make a great living playing guitar and have acheieved and am still achieving all
the goals I set for myself and I am quite proud and humbled by how fortunate I am.
There are many great guitar players far better than myself who haevn't had as much
success. Also when I recieve mail from fans who enjoy my music it really affects me.
Someone spent their hard earned money on my songs... means a lot," he affirms conclusively.
Clark concludes by listing continuing and future undertakings succinctly, by saying, "I co-ordinate lessons/billing/sales for my private as well as 17 Park District's classes and the three instructors that offer classes from my company T D Clark Productions during the day. I teach from 3 to 9 then record myself, or bands, in my studio, or practice with one of the many bands I play with. I also try to get better on guitar but I am not sure if it is working!"
Guitar Nine Records visitors have compared the playing style and/or musical approach of T.D. Clark to guitarists such as Joe Satriani and others.
Clark's discography (available here at Guitar Nine Records) includes several solo albums ("Perspective", "Personalities", "Next Big Adventure").
