Stew Cutler is an energetic and driven musician/guitarist currently based in New York, New York (U.S.A.) who denotes his playing style as open-ended improv in a jazz-blues setting, as one might want to hear on his most recent recording, "Trio Music". His workhorse guitars include a Tele and a Strat. Cutler has been playing guitar since 1973, and truthfully shares his career objective, "I'd like to be able to work fairly consistently with my own projects."
When the attempt was made to uncover his definitive or preferred effect for the guitar, Cutler purposefully responded with, "Reverb," and then volunteered his musicial goals, "The message of music played." He keeps open the possibility to, at some point, study harmonica, and is at the moment listening to Tyrone Davis. His most important gratification? "Nothing specific," he muses emphatically.
Cutler winds up by detailing long-term and forthcoming endeavors insightfully, by saying, "I'm about to go on tour with Bobby Previte. Hopefully working with Jeb Loy Nichols in England soon."
