Stew Cutler is a nimble-fingered, altogether exciting six-stringer from New York, New York (U.S.A.) who reveals his style as open-ended improv in a jazz-blues setting, as one can clearly experience on his latest album, "Trio Music". His favorite guitars consist of a Tele and a Strat. Cutler has played guitar since 1973, and freely acknowledges his career aspiration, "I'd like to be able to work fairly consistently with my own projects."
When requested to reveal his ultimate effect for the guitar, Cutler answered back with, "Reverb," and then brought up his musicial goals, "The message of music played." He fervently hopes to one day study harmonica, and is at this time listening to Tyrone Davis. His primary fulfillment? "Nothing specific," he affirms conclusively.
Cutler concludes by mentioning continuing and future undertakings succinctly, by saying, "I'm about to go on tour with Bobby Previte. Hopefully working with Jeb Loy Nichols in England soon."
Cutler's discography (available here at Guitar Nine Records) includes several solo albums ("Trio Music", "Insignia").
