Steve Rotter is a spirited, vibrant guitarist from Carol Stream, Illinois (U.S.A.) who describes his style as instrumental hard rock, as documented on his latest release, "Wraith". photoHis guitars of choice include a Jackson Dinky Reverse Pro Series and a Peavey Vandenberg. Rotter has played guitar since 1987, and openly affirms his career goal, "To get a good following in the Chicago area and continue recording and performing."

When prompted to reveal his preferred effect for the guitar, Rotter replied, "Chorus," and offered his musicial goals, "Feelings of attitude and mood... colorful power on tape." He would love to someday study voice, and is currently listening to Queensryche, Randy Rhoads/Ozzy, Yngwie Malmsteen and Racer X (Paul Gilbert). His greatest satisfaction? "When someone says they enjoyed my music then I've done my job. I set out to give to someone what people gave to me when I started playing; when it felt like Christmas morning as a kid," he states unambiguously.

Rotter notes ongoing and upcoming projects thusly, "Putting a band together and starting to write for a 2nd CD which will be recorded by us in our studio. It's exciting -- same bassist, new drummer and looking for a good vocalist. We're going for the hard rock, Ozzy/Queensryche feel, with classical overtones."

Guitar Nine Records visitors have compared the playing style and/or musical approach of Steve Rotter to guitarists such as John Sykes and others.
