Steve Hunter is a dynamic and distinctive musician/guitarist currently based in Scottsdale, Arizona (U.S.A.) who denotes his playing style as instrumental music, as one might want to hear on his most recent recording, "Hymns For Guitar". His workhorse guitars include a Gretsch Glove Corvette and a Jeff Beck Signature Model Fender Strat. Hunter has been playing guitar since 1966, and truthfully shares his career objective, "Working as a solo artist and producer."
When the attempt was made to uncover his definitive or preferred effect for the guitar, Hunter purposefully responded with, "Vintage MRX Dynacomp," and then volunteered his musicial goals, "To create musical pictures." He keeps open the possibility to, at some point, study orchestration, and is at the moment listening to Jeff Beck, David Gilmour, Cafe Del Mar, Art Of Noise and classical music. His most important gratification? "When people enjoy what I play," he muses emphatically.
Hunter winds up by detailing long-term and forthcoming endeavors insightfully, by saying, "Writing and producing."
Hunter's discography (available here at Guitar Nine Records) includes a number of recording projects (L.A. Blues Authority "Fit For A. King", Leslie West "Dodgin' The Dirt").
