Steve Hunter is an energetic, committed six-stringer from Scottsdale, Arizona (U.S.A.) who reveals his style as instrumental music, as one can clearly experience on his latest album, "Hymns For Guitar". His favorite guitars include a Gretsch Glove Corvette and a Jeff Beck Signature Model Fender Strat. Hunter has played guitar since 1966, and freely acknowledges his career aspiration, "Working as a solo artist and producer."
When requested to reveal his ultimate effect for the guitar, Hunter answered back with, "Vintage MRX Dynacomp," and then brought up his musicial goals, "To create musical pictures." He hopes to one day study orchestration, and is at this time listening to Jeff Beck, David Gilmour, Cafe Del Mar, Art Of Noise and classical music. His primary fulfillment? "When people enjoy what I play," he affirms conclusively.
Hunter concludes by mentioning continuing and future undertakings succinctly, by saying, "Writing and producing."
Hunter's discography (available here at Guitar Nine Records) includes one solo album ("Hymns For Guitar") and participation on a number of other recordings (Jason Becker "Perspective", L.A. Blues Authority "Fit For A. King", L.A. Blues Authority "Hats Off To Stevie Ray", Leslie West "Dodgin' The Dirt", Leslie West "Collection").
