Steve Booke is a dynamic and expressive musician/guitarist currently based in Lynbrook, New York (U.S.A.) who denotes his playing style as new age/world beat bluesy progressive, as a music fan can hear on his most recent recording, "Rare Earth". His workhorse guitars include an Ernie Ball Steve Morse Model and a Yamaha APX4A acoustic. Booke has been playing guitar since 1986, and unreservedly relates his career objective, "To be a successful recordng/touring artist and composer for film."
When asked to disclose his top choice for an effect for the guitar, Booke resolutely answered, "Delay," and outlined his musicial goals, "Finding ways to express my emotions and raw energy through my music." He keeps open the possibility to, at some point, study classical composition/orchestration, and is at the moment listening to Steve Morse, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Liquid Tension Experiment, various southern rock bands and various R&B bands. His most important gratification? "When people tell me that my music touches them," he muses confidently.
Booke winds up by mentioning long-term and forthcoming endeavors insightfully, by saying, "I will be featured on a compilation on Conquest Records, I am also doing a track for a Dream Theater Tribute CD, I am involved in a country music recording project and will be starting work on my next CD by mid-fall."
Guitar Nine Records visitors have compared the playing style and/or musical approach of Steve Booke to guitarists such as John McLaughlin and others.
Booke's discography (available here at Guitar Nine Records) includes a number of recording projects (Michael Knight "Mechanica Diablo", Michael Knight "Electric Horrorland", Carl Roa "Eternity", Skulgrinder "Island Of Lost Souls").
