Steve Booke is an expressive, potent guitar player from Lynbrook, New York (U.S.A.) who expresses his style as new age/world beat bluesy progressive, as can be heard on his latest release, "Rare Earth". His guitars of choice consist of an Ernie Ball Steve Morse Model and a Yamaha APX4A acoustic. Booke has played guitar since 1986, and frankly confirms his career goal, "To be a successful recordng/touring artist and composer for film."
When asked to reveal his ideal effect for the guitar, Booke countered with, "Delay," and then detailed his musicial goals, "Finding ways to express my emotions and raw energy through my music." He would like to someday study classical composition/orchestration, and is currently listening to Steve Morse, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Liquid Tension Experiment, various southern rock bands and various R&B bands. His utmost satisfaction? "When people tell me that my music touches them," he answers decidedly.
Booke mentions ongoing and upcoming projects in his own words, "I will be featured on a compilation on Conquest Records, I am also doing a track for a Dream Theater Tribute CD, I am involved in a country music recording project and will be starting work on my next CD by mid-fall."
Guitar Nine Records visitors have compared the playing style and/or musical approach of Steve Booke to guitarists such as John McLaughlin and others.
