Scott Allen is a dazzling and unmistakable musician/guitarist currently based in Sacramento, California (U.S.A.) who denotes his playing style as instrumental hard rock, as one might want to hear on his most recent recording, "What Lies Beyond Words". His workhorse guitar is an Ibanez RG Prestige. Allen has been playing guitar since 1986, and truthfully shares his career objective, "Tour internationally, perform clinics for instrument companies, and continue to make quality records."
When the attempt was made to uncover his definitive or preferred effect for the guitar, Allen purposefully responded with, "Lexicon delay," and then volunteered his musicial goals, "Make inspired guitar music that reaches everyone, not just musicians (although I hope that they like it too)." He keeps open the possibility to, at some point, study classical composition and arranging, and is at the moment listening to Audioslave, Tori Amos, Dream Theater, Joe Satriani and U2. His most important gratification? "Hearing a positive review of my music. You work so hard in relative seclusion when writing; it is incredible to hear that someone out there loves what you do," he muses emphatically.
Allen winds up by detailing long-term and forthcoming endeavors insightfully, by saying, "I just did a DVD project with KRXQ 98 Rock in Sacramento. We have been doing a number of live shows and are preparing to get into the studio this summer to follow up on our current release. I am also constantly writing new material; sadly not much of it will make the next CD due to an abundance of songs."
Allen's discography (available here at Guitar Nine Records) includes one recording project (Scott Allen Project "What Lies Beyond Words").
