Scott Allen is an altogether exciting, sparkling guitar player from Sacramento, California (U.S.A.) who expresses his style as instrumental hard rock, as one can appreciate on his latest release, "What Lies Beyond Words". His favorite guitar is an Ibanez RG Prestige. Allen has played guitar since 1986, and plainly avows his career goal, "Tour internationally, perform clinics for instrument companies, and continue to make quality records."
When asked to name his number one effect for the guitar, Allen countered with, "Lexicon delay," and then cited his musicial goals, "Make inspired guitar music that reaches everyone, not just musicians (although I hope that they like it too)." He hopes to someday study classical composition and arranging, and is at this time listening to Audioslave, Tori Amos, Dream Theater, Joe Satriani and U2. His utmost satisfaction? "Hearing a positive review of my music. You work so hard in relative seclusion when writing; it is incredible to hear that someone out there loves what you do," he answers unquestionably.
Allen details continuing and future projects in his own words, "I just did a DVD project with KRXQ 98 Rock in Sacramento. We have been doing a number of live shows and are preparing to get into the studio this summer to follow up on our current release. I am also constantly writing new material; sadly not much of it will make the next CD due to an abundance of songs."
Allen's discography (available here at Guitar Nine Records) includes one recording project (Melodic Soloists "Melodic Soloists").
