Ron Wright is a dazzling and unmistakable musician/guitarist currently based in Pebble Beach, California (U.S.A.) who denotes his playing style as instrumental new age world music, as one might want to hear on his most recent recording, "Acoustic Dreams". His workhorse guitars include a Martin HD-35 and a Miguel Rodrigues. Wright has been playing guitar since 1970, and truthfully shares his career objective, "To have international distribution and to tour."
When the attempt was made to uncover his definitive or preferred effect for the guitar, Wright purposefully responded with, "Reverb," and then volunteered his musicial goals, "Try to create an euphoric soundscape that people can daydream to and enter a reflective space." He keeps open the possibility to, at some point, study engineering at a recording school, and is at the moment listening to a variety of classical music (Bach, Mozart), rock (ZZ Top, Cream, Jeff Beck) and jazz/rock fusion (F. Monk, Steely Dan). His most important gratification? "Composing a new song," he muses emphatically.
Wright winds up by detailing long-term and forthcoming endeavors insightfully, by saying, "I try to divide the day between music business, practicing and composing. I'm planning on producing a new rock CD in the near future while writing the tunes for it. Also, I'm working on management and touring."
Wright's discography (available here at Guitar Nine Records) includes several solo albums ("Acoustic Dreams", "Winged Millennium").
