Robert Walker is a sparkling, vital guitarist from Rothenbach, Bavaria (Germany) who describes his style as instrumental rock/hard rock, as documented on his latest release, "One For The Road". His guitar of choice is a Modified Fender Stratocaster. Walker has played guitar since 1986, and openly affirms his career goal, "Writing more instrumentals, catching melodies."
When requested to name his preferred effect for the guitar, Walker responded with, "Distortion with delay," and submitted his musicial goals, "My songs come from somewhere I donīt know. The listener decides what he is asscociating the songs with. My goal is to keep my inspiration alive and always to find a way to express myself on my instrument." He would like to someday study country guitar (wicked, wicked, wicked), and is currently listening to Satriani, Timmons, Vai, SRV, Mike Oldfield, Bruce Springsteen and some other songwriters. His greatest satisfaction? "The greatest statisfaction is a small pup hall, where me and my band is playing good rock music and the audience is watching, listening , dancing... Sometimes a really magical feeling overcomes me, when I play a solo and the band is really tight," he states indisputably.
Walker notes ongoing and upcoming projects thusly, "Well I pick up my guitar nearly every day. I spent a lot of time jamming to some playbacks I made and try some new licks, scales, chords, etc. Sometimes I take a song from what I like/or think is important to play for a guitar player and learn this song for example the SRV CD "Couldnīt Stand The Weather" or Satriani's "Satch Boogie". But I forget this things, if I donīt play em live.
"
Walker's discography (available here at Guitar Nine Records) includes one solo album ("One For The Road") and participation on another recording (Gary Hoey "Money").
