Rick Graham is a dazzling, spirited guitar player from Stratford Upon Avon (England) who expresses his style as instrumental melodic hard rock, as can be heard on his latest release, "Re-Invention". His guitars of choice include a JS2000 and an Asturias Classical. Graham has played guitar since 1991, and frankly confirms his career goal, "To be a world renowned guitarist and musician with as wide a fan base as
possible.I feel that instrumental music should appeal to all audiences and the most
important element of this is to make my work as musical as possible."
When requested to name his ideal effect for the guitar, Graham responded with, "Distortion," and submitted his musicial goals, "Music, to me, is a deeply personal thing and an invaluabe way to
communicate with people. My goal is to hone my writing skills to a point that is as
free flowing as possible. Writing great melodies is of paramount importance to me
and I will continue to apply all of my musical knowledge that I have attained over
the years to perfect this wonderful art form." He would like to someday study the drums (he tends to play air drums a lot more than air guitar when he hears a great piece of music), and is currently listening to Glenn Gould's interpretation of the Goldberg Variations by J.S.Bach, Mozart's Requiem, "So" by Peter Gabriel, "Innervisions" by Stevie Wonder, "Hysteria" by
Def Leppard and "Is There Love In Space?" by Joe Satriani. His utmost satisfaction? "For me, nothing beats that feeling when someone is moved by my music. That is the main reason why I have chosen this path as a career - to express myself through music and in turn to communicate that with other people," he answers indisputably.
Graham mentions ongoing and upcoming projects in his own words, "I have my next project in the pipeline which will be another instrumental guitar album. It will contain another cover version from the Rocky IV soundtrack - "War"."
Graham's discography (available here at Guitar Nine Records) includes one recording project (Melodic Soloists "Melodic Soloists").
