Richard Kuncicky is an adroit and talented axe wielder currently based in St. Augustine, Florida (U.S.A.) who represents his playing style as jazz, classical, new age instrumental on solo fingerstyle guitar, as a listener can readily appreciate on his most recent album, "Richard Kuncicky". His most utilized guitar is a Fender 2100cx nylon string. Kuncicky has been playing guitar since 1962, and without beating around the bush discloses his career aspiration, "To create a series of recordings of all my original music and arrangements that I've accumulated throughout my life. I am 47 years old."
When prompted to divulge his ultimate effect for the guitar, Kuncicky responded by saying, "Deep hall reverb," and continued by citing his musicial goals, "To stir up emotion in the listener and release creativity for myself." He eagerly hopes to one day study upright bass ("I've played electric bass most of my life"), and is presently listening to his own music ("I haven't listened to a CD for entertainment in many years. I haven't listened to the radio in 20 years"). His principal fulfillment? "When people like original music as much (or more) than cover material," he declares without a doubt.
Kuncicky wraps up by mentioning current and approaching undertakings enthusiastically, by saying, "Just released a CD of standards with Driving Records called "Acoustic Standards". Currently recording two more solo guitar CDs with a larger percentage of original songs. Working on a harp (Celtic folk harp) CD of original material. Trying to find some time to write and arrange more material. Basically loving life."
