June, 1999 More [Artist Bios]

Richard Kuncicky is a highly regarded, spirited guitarist from St. Augustine, Florida (U.S.A.) who describes his style as jazz, classical, new age instrumental on solo fingerstyle guitar, as documented on his latest release, "Richard Kuncicky". photoHis guitar of choice is a Fender 2100cx nylon string. Kuncicky has played guitar since 1962, and frankly affirms his career goal, "To create a series of recordings of all my original music and arrangements that I've accumulated throughout my life. I am 47 years old."

When requested to name his preferred effect for the guitar, Kuncicky responded with, "Deep hall reverb," and submitted his musicial goals, "To stir up emotion in the listener and release creativity for myself." He would like to someday study upright bass ("I've played electric bass most of my life"), and is currently listening to his own music ("I haven't listened to a CD for entertainment in many years. I haven't listened to the radio in 20 years"). His greatest satisfaction? "When people like original music as much (or more) than cover material," he answers indisputably.

photoKuncicky notes ongoing and upcoming projects thusly, "Just released a CD of standards with Driving Records called "Acoustic Standards". Currently recording two more solo guitar CDs with a larger percentage of original songs. Working on a harp (Celtic folk harp) CD of original material. Trying to find some time to write and arrange more material. Basically loving life."

Kuncicky's discography (available here at Guitar Nine Records) includes several solo albums ("Richard Kuncicky", "Acoustic Standards Volume One", "Live At The Cafe Alcazar", "Acoustic Standards Volume Two").
