Richard James is an adroit and talented axe wielder currently based in Long Beach, California (U.S.A.) who represents his playing style as hard rock (vocal and instrumental), as a listener can readily appreciate on his most recent recording, "Hottest Unknown Guitarists". photoHis most utilized guitars consist of a Jackson Strat and a Carvin. James has been playing guitar since 1983, and straight from the shoulder discloses his career objective, "To eventually get a world wide release on a major label or big indie label."

When prompted to divulge his ultimate effect for the guitar, James unflinchingly stated, "Digital reverb," and continued by citing his musicial goals, "For people to feel the same emotions that I have when writing and performing a song. To be remembered." He eagerly hopes to, at some point, study production of movie and TV soundtrack music, and is presently listening to Native American Indian music, Joe Satriani and Kenny Wayne Shepherd. His principal gratification? "Completing a new song and listening to the final tape, hearing how everything falls together," he explains without a doubt.

James wraps up by mentioning current and approaching endeavors enthusiastically, by saying, "Constantly writing and recording new material. Shopping my new songs to some bigger labels and hoping for a deal. Also working on background music for movies."
