Mike Walsh is an expressive, dynamic guitarist from Prospect Hieghts, Illinois (U.S.A.) who describes his style as neo-classical/progressive/shred, as demonstrated on his latest release, "Opus 2". photoHis guitars of choice consist of a Washburn 7 string with Dimarzio evolution pickups and a Hamer Diablo with Dimarzio evolution pickups. Walsh has played guitar since 1990, and clearly states his career goal, "Playing on stage nightly."

When asked about his favorite effect for the guitar, Walsh replied, "Delay," and mentioned his musicial goals, "To continue writing rock material and develope a catalog of other compositions that would be played by orchestras and similar ensembles." He would love to someday study sound engineering, and is currently listening to Nuno Bettencourt's solo albums and S.T.P. His greatest satisfaction? "Hearing my material being performed by any group or ensemble," he states unequivocally.

photoWalsh lists ongoing and upcoming projects thusly, "Hess "Opus 2", SAGE, Lunar Eclipse."

Guitar Nine Records visitors have compared the playing style and/or musical approach of Mike Walsh to guitarists such as Marty Friedman, Jimi Hendrix and others.

Walsh's discography (available here at Guitar Nine Records) includes several recording projects (Hess "Opus 1", Hess "Opus 2", Sage "Lightning Strikes").
