Matthew Von Doran is a dazzling, spirited guitarist from Orange County, California (U.S.A.) who describes his style as jazz/rock/fusion/blues, as documented on his latest release, "Clazz". photoHis guitars of choice include a Tom Anderson electric solidbody and a Gibson Chet Atkins nylon string. Doran has played guitar since 1976, and frankly confirms his career goal, "Solo artist with record deal. Also sideman/band member with different artists of different styles."

When requested to name his preferred effect for the guitar, Doran responded with, "Reverb," and submitted his musicial goals, "To play appropriately in the moment with honesty and integrity." He would like to someday study at Berklee in Boston, and is currently listening to Wes Montgomery, Robben Ford, Robin Trower, Pat Metheny and Keith Jarrett. His greatest satisfaction? "When I can step back and let the music happen without my participation," he answers indisputably.

Doran mentions ongoing and upcoming projects thusly, "Scott Wilkie band, Tim Moyer band, Razz, Don Miller big band, Kerry Getz band, Matthew Von Doran trio, teaching, studio work."
