Martin Motnik is a dynamic, self-motivated bassist from Munich (Germany) who describes his style as instrumental rock, as documented on his latest release, "Bass Invader". His bass of choice is a Ritter bass. Motnik has played bass since 1984, and openly affirms his career goal, "To be an international working studio bassist and solo artist."
When prompted to reveal his preferred effect for the bass, Motnik responded with, "Distortion," and offered his musicial goals, "Showing the huge versatility of the bass bass with songs that are also enjoyable for non-musicians." He would love to someday study with all those big-shot bass players in one big camp and have a big jam, while watching and learning the trademarks of their playing, and is currently listening to Gregg Bissonette and Mattias "IA" Eklundh. His greatest satisfaction? "Since I am a perfectionist, I'm never really happy about a recording directly afterwards. Listening to it the next day, finding that I like it, always makes me very happy," he states unambiguously.
Motnik notes ongoing and upcoming projects thusly, "I'm preparing for clinic tours for Line 6 and Gallien-Krueger. That will keep me busy for the next few months."
Motnik's discography (available here at Guitar Nine Records) includes one solo album ("Bass Invader").
