Martin Behr is a vibrant and skillful axe wielder currently based in Bonn (Germany) who represents his playing style as instrumental rock, as a music fan can now experience on his most recent recording, "Law Of The Jungle". His most utilized guitar is an Ibanez Custom Shop Model. Behr has been playing guitar since 1985, and straight from the shoulder divulges his career objective, "Continue to release instrumental records and build a reputation as a great guitarist/composer who touches people's emotions with his music!"
When asked to finally make public his favorite or most used effect for the guitar, Behr unflinchingly stated, "Reverb," and continued by outlining his musicial goals, "Moods, atmosphere, emotion - I'm trying to paint situations or to tell stories where you know what happens right now from listening to the music." He maintains a desire to, at some point, study the piano, and is presently listening to Vinnie Moore - "The Maze", Richie Sambora - "Undiscovered Soul", Dream Theater - "Scenes From A Memory" and Robben Ford - "Tiger Walk" . His principal gratification? "Other people's reaction on my playing and records - when they tell me what moves them or what they hear in my music," he explains absolutely.
Behr wraps up by noting current and approaching endeavors enthusiastically, by saying, "Composing for my third CD. Right after finishing a CD i allways start composing for the next one - just like most of the other guys do (i think). I just finished the follow-up to "No Good Deal, Part Two", which I am absolutely pleased with and cannot wait to release, but i will of course compose a whole record before I start production...and it will take some time."
Guitar Nine Records visitors have compared the playing style and/or musical approach of Martin Behr to guitarists such as Neil Zaza and others.
Behr's discography (available here at Guitar Nine Records) includes several solo albums ("Keeping The Balance", "Law Of The Jungle").
