Lars Eric Mattsson is a nimble-fingered and consummate axe wielder currently based in Aland Islands (Finland) who represents his playing style as hard rock with influences from progressive, blues and classical, as a music fan can now experience on his most recent recording, "Electric Woodoo".  His most utilized guitars consist of a Valley Arts custom and a 1961 Fender Stratocaster. Mattsson has been playing guitar since 1978, and straight from the shoulder discloses his career objective, "Just to keep doing what I like and hopefully find a bigger audience. I am really happy with my new vocal release "Obsession" and I want to continue in the same direction as this."
When asked to finally make public his favorite or most used effect for the guitar, Mattsson unflinchingly stated, "Wah wah," and continued by outlining his musicial goals, "I want my music to have heart, melody and power, a little bit of tension and release." He eagerly hopes to, at some point, study singing and arranging for a symphony orchestra, and is presently listening to Dream Theater ("Otherwise I think almost all new music is shit"). His principal gratification? "For the first time in my life I am happy with the way my recordings end up ("Obsession"). I don't think I could have made it better with more studio time," he explains absolutely.
 Mattsson wraps up by mentioning current and approaching endeavors enthusiastically, by saying, "I will probably be writing and making demos for the next months, the plan is to make something pretty complex. It could be a 2-part CD, but I don't know. Hopefully I will begin recording again before the end of this year."
