Kim Bennett is a talented and nimble-fingered axe wielder currently based in Kansas City, Missouri (U.S.A.) who represents his playing style as blues-rock, with jazz and R&B influences, as a music fan can now experience on his most recent recording, "Moving Parts". His workhorse guitars consist of a Custom Telecaster and a Martin dreadnaught acoustic. Bennett has been playing guitar since 1970, and putting it simply, divulges his career objective, "To write, record, and release 3 to 5 albums that hold up for the ages."
When requested to let slip his favorite or most used effect for the guitar, Bennett resolutely answered, "Digital delay," and then outlined his musicial goals, "To keep things musically interesting." He maintains a desire to, at some point, study for one hour with Joe Pass, Wes Montgomery, and Danny Gatton, and is at the moment listening to anything with a groove and a great melody. His principal gratification? "I would have to say, finishing the "Moving Parts" CD was way up there," he explains without hesitation.
Bennett wraps up by noting long-term and forthcoming endeavors enthusiastically, by saying, "The next two albums are written -- I need to get them recorded."
Bennett's discography (available here at Guitar Nine Records) includes one solo album ("Moving Parts").
