Kevin Russell is a dazzling, potent guitar player from San Rafael, California (U.S.A.) who expresses his style as contemporary blues/rock, as can be heard on his latest release, "My Generation". His guitars of choice include a '94 Strat and a '73 Les Paul. Russell has played guitar since 1968, and frankly confirms his career goal, "Continue to make records, tour, teach and produce other artists."
When requested to name his ideal effect for the guitar, Russell countered with, "Tube Screamer," and submitted his musicial goals, "To carry on the blues and to tell my truth in my lyrics." He would like to someday study more about chord voicings and different tunings, and is currently listening to Muddy Waters, Freddy King, Jimmy Page and a lot of new R&B such as Diangelo and Lauren Hill. His utmost satisfaction? "When i've completed a new record and it's time to support it live," he answers indisputably.
Russell mentions ongoing and upcoming projects in his own words, "Teaching/clinics and always writing new music."
Russell's discography (available here at Guitar Nine Records) includes one recording project (L.A. Blues Authority "Fit For A. King").
