John Inman is an accomplished, altogether exciting six-stringer from Dallas, Texas (U.S.A.) who reveals his style as progressive jazz rock, as one can clearly experience on his latest album, "skiesWIDEopen". His favorite guitar is an Ibanez (FGM400/S series). Inman has played guitar since 1986, and freely acknowledges his career aspiration, "Make a living in music, one way or another."
When requested to reveal his ultimate effect for the guitar, Inman came back with, "Reverb and delay," and then brought up his musicial goals, "I try to express emotion through melody, much like my hero Neal Schon. It's my opinion that if you can't move someone with your notes, what's the point? I try to create lead parts that sing, like a verse, chorus, etc." He fervently hopes to one day study piano and jazz music ("I would love to study under a guitarist/composer like Al DiMeola. I'm really influenced by his overall instrumentation/compositions"), and is at this time listening to Journey, current "radio rock", and jazz/fusion ("I just go through heavy mood swings, and really love music"). His primary fulfillment? "Being appreciated by a diverse audience as well as my musician peers, and of course, a great response at a live performance," he affirms conclusively.
Inman concludes by mentioning continuing and future undertakings succinctly, by saying, "I play in two cover bands (Dance Regina, and THE CORE), aside from writing and recording my solo work."
Inman's discography (available here at Guitar Nine Records) includes one recording project (Matt Cafissi "Heat Of Emotion").
