Joe Pinnavaia is a highly regarded, committed six-stringer from Buffalo, New York (U.S.A.) who reveals his style as progressive melodic rock, with a touch of electronica, as one can clearly experience on his latest album, "InVitro". photoHis favorite guitars consist of a Tom Anderson Droptop 7 string and a G&L Synth enabled Strat. Pinnavaia has played guitar since 1985, and candidly acknowledges his career aspiration, "To continue to compose and expand on my music via new harmonic models while growing a guitar teaching business."

When requested to reveal his ultimate effect for the guitar, Pinnavaia answered back with, "BOSS BD - 2," and then brought up his musicial goals, "To take the listener on a journey. To start at one place and feel like you end up somewhere else. Hopefully they will remember the sights along the way." He hopes to one day study with Allan Holdsworth, and is at this time listening to Michael Brecker "Wide Angles" and "Tales from the Hudson" and Meshuggha "Obzen". His primary fulfillment? "Knowing that I have stayed true to my musical goals and myself," he affirms conclusively.

photoPinnavaia concludes by mentioning continuing and future undertakings succinctly, by saying, "I'm currently working on a new EP due out hopefully by the end of 2009 featuring 4 to 5 compositions. These will be more diverse in textures and other instruments than the first experiment!"
