Joe Elliott is an accomplished and adroit axe wielder currently based in Los Angeles, California (U.S.A.) who represents his playing style as fusion ("an eclectic mix of everything i've ever played"), as a music fan can now experience on his most recent recording, "Joe's Place". His workhorse guitars consist of a Ted Kellison custom "Strat" model and a Martin 0018E. Elliott has been playing guitar since 1971, and putting it simply, divulges his career objective, "To continue earning my living playing guitar, teaching guitar, and writing/recording music."
When asked to finally make public his favorite or most used effect for the guitar, Elliott unflinchingly stated, "None," and continued by outlining his musicial goals, "My tunes are really a result of my brain mixing up the gazillion songs I've played gigging all these years." He maintains a desire to, at some point, study arranging for an orchestra, and is at the moment listening to Robben Ford, Scott Henderson and Joe Pass. His principal gratification? "Musically, I'd have to say having an entire song (head, comping, and solo) flow like a natural event," he explains absolutely.
Elliott wraps up by noting long-term and forthcoming endeavors enthusiastically, by saying, "My band is starting a new CD project in April of 1999."
Elliott's discography (available here at Guitar Nine Records) includes one solo album ("Joe's Place").
