Joachim Schutte is an altogether exciting, dazzling guitar player from Hemmingen (Germany) who expresses his style as rock, fusion and funk, as one can appreciate on his latest release, "Unknown Land". His favorite guitars include a Schecter Strat and a custom-made Sammy Sanchez Strat. Schutte has played guitar since 1978, and plainly avows his career goal, "Playing big gigs with L.A. Sux and doing interesting studio work."
When asked to name his number one effect for the guitar, Schutte countered with, "Delay," and then cited his musicial goals, "To learn more about country and jazz and to be a good composer." He hopes to someday study with Steve Vai and Eric Johnson, and is at this time listening to Eric Johnson and Madonna. His utmost satisfaction? "Completing the recording of a new song," he answers unquestionably.
Schutte details continuing and future projects in his own words, "Currently doing studio work as a guitarist and engineer for different projects. Gigs with the bands Real Time and XXL. Recording a band called Ladies First. Writing new L.A. Sux songs."
