Jeff Scheetz is a distinctive, energetic guitarist from Kansas City, Missouri (U.S.A.) who describes his style as instrumental rock-blues, as demonstrated on his latest release, "Pawn Shop". His guitars of choice consist of a Yamaha Pacifica 1221 and a Strat. Scheetz has played guitar since 1980, and clearly states his career goal, "Continue doing what I am doing - creating music and being able to do it for a living."
When asked about his favorite effect for the guitar, Scheetz replied, "Wah," and mentioned his musicial goals, "I am just trying to capture what I have inside and express it in the form of outward music." He would love to someday study nothing in particular, and is currently listening to Warren Haynes, Robben Ford, Steve Vai and Phil Keaggy. His greatest satisfaction? "On the musical side - creating. Whether it be a song or improvising a solo," he states unequivocally.
Scheetz lists ongoing and upcoming projects thusly, "Am producing several bands in the studio. Have a couple of my new projects coming up that should be out within the next year. Trying to get as many trout on the end of my fly rod as I can!"
Guitar Nine Records visitors have compared the playing style and/or musical approach of Jeff Scheetz to guitarists such as Joe Satriani and others.
Scheetz's discography (available here at Guitar Nine Records) includes several solo albums ("Pawn Shop", "Dig!", "Christmas... At Last", "In The Beginning...") and participation on a number of other recordings (Jason Becker Trib. "Warmth In The Wilderness", Jeff Scheetz Band "Beggars, Rogues & Thieves").
