Jeff Scheetz is a reputable, committed six-stringer from Kansas City, Missouri (U.S.A.) who reveals his style as instrumental rock-blues, as one can clearly experience on his latest album, "Pawn Shop". His favorite guitars consist of a Yamaha Pacifica 1221 and a Strat. Scheetz has played guitar since 1980, and candidly acknowledges his career aspiration, "Continue doing what I am doing - creating music and being able to do it for a living."
When requested to reveal his ultimate effect for the guitar, Scheetz answered back with, "Wah," and then brought up his musicial goals, "I am just trying to capture what I have inside and express it in the form of outward music." He hopes to one day study nothing in particular, and is at this time listening to Warren Haynes, Robben Ford, Steve Vai and Phil Keaggy. His primary fulfillment? "On the musical side - creating. Whether it be a song or improvising a solo," he affirms conclusively.
Scheetz concludes by mentioning continuing and future undertakings succinctly, by saying, "Am producing several bands in the studio. Have a couple of my new projects coming up that should be out within the next year. Trying to get as many trout on the end of my fly rod as I can!"
Guitar Nine Records visitors have compared the playing style and/or musical approach of Jeff Scheetz to guitarists such as Joe Satriani and others.
