Jeff Morris is a consummate and more-than-capable six-stringer currently based in Newburyport, Massachusetts (U.S.A.) who reveals his playing style as reverb drenched, 5-alarm rock 'n' roll, as a listener can readily experience on his most recent album, "Tri-State Killing Spree". His most utilized guitar is a Gretsch 6120 ("The color of a Mexican sunset"). Morris has been playing guitar since 1984, and with no holds barred reveals his career aspiration, "Writing and recording music for use in movies, commercials etc."
When asked to divulge his one essential effect for the guitar, Morris responded by saying, "Re-freakin-verb," and continued by mentioning his musicial goals, "That elusive feel. Music that makes you feel like whatever you're doing is dramatic and exciting. Dusty road music that makes you squint and check your rear view mirror as you accelerate past 90 MPH." He eagerly hopes to one day study well, nothing in particular ("Sounds too much like work. I wouldn't mind figuring out how to get the sound of a '65 Fender Showman out of a Champ so I can stop breaking my back at gigs"), and is presently listening to Jim Campilongo, Duke Levine, Danny Gatton and Ronnie Earl. His primary fulfillment? "I don't want to scare the ladies, so let's just say that when you see the butts-a-boogie-ing in the crowd, you know you're doing your job. It almost makes me smile," he declares incontestably.
Morris concludes by detailing current and approaching undertakings succinctly, by saying, "We're recording some new tracks in a month or so and we'll be releasing a second CD soon after. Things have gone very well for our first release, and we're expecting to do even better with this one."
