Greg Rapaport is a highly regarded and talented axe wielder currently based in Crompond, New York (United States) who represents his playing style as progressive funk/metal fusion, as a listener can readily appreciate on his most recent album, "Azrael Block". His most utilized guitars consist of a Carvin DC747-C 7 string and an Ibanez SR-305DX 5 string bass. Rapaport has been playing guitar since 1996, and without beating around the bush discloses his career aspiration, "Becoming a legitimate guitarist and hopefully making a little money doing
it."
When prompted to divulge his ultimate effect for the guitar, Rapaport responded by saying, "A little delay," and continued by citing his musicial goals, "I like to try to make music that is a true expression of myself and I hope that people can identify with it and hopefully appreciate it." He eagerly hopes to one day study touch-style guitar, and is presently listening to Frank Gambale, UK, Tribal Tech, Nevermore and Spiral Architect. His principal fulfillment? "Writing a melody that is both memorable and challenging for the listener," he declares without a doubt.
Rapaport wraps up by mentioning current and approaching undertakings enthusiastically, by saying, "Currently working on a new fusion project. Also taking the time to build
my technique on both guitar and bass."
Rapaport's discography (available here at Guitar Nine Records) includes several solo albums ("Wyrd", "Azrael Block", "Homunculus").
