Glenn Cannon is an adroit, committed six-stringer from Melbourne (Australia) who reveals his style as jazz/fusion, as one can clearly experience on his latest album, "Logic?". His favorite guitars consist of a Musicman "Luke" and a Gibson 335. Cannon has played guitar since 1988, and candidly acknowledges his career aspiration, "To play my own tunes with great musicians... which I'm pretty much doing now."
When requested to reveal his ultimate effect for the guitar, Cannon answered back with, "Distortion," and then brought up his musicial goals, "Hopefully something interesting harmonically, as well as tunes that are interactive from a group perspective." He hopes to one day study with a few drummers from New York, maybe by jamming with Zach Danziger, or Jojo Mayer, and is at this time listening to Allan Holdsworth, Wayne Krantz, Chick Corea and Gonzalo Rubalcaba. His primary fulfillment? "Improvising with great musicians, as well as hearing my original tunes come to life when played by a band for the first time," he affirms conclusively.
Cannon concludes by mentioning continuing and future undertakings succinctly, by saying, "I'm trying to practice more. I'm also releasing second CD with fusion group Logic, and a release ("Leverage") under my own name later in the year."
Guitar Nine Records visitors have compared the playing style and/or musical approach of Glenn Cannon to guitarists such as Allan Holdsworth and others.
Cannon's discography (available here at Guitar Nine Records) includes one solo album ("Leverage") and participation on a number of other recordings (Logic? "Logic?", Logic? "The Waiting Game").
