Gerald Gradwohl is a talented, sparkling guitar player from Wiener Neustadt (Austria) who expresses his style as funk, fusion, jazz with a powerful attitude, as can be heard on his latest release, "ABQ". His favorite guitars consist of an Ibanez FGM300 and a Parker MidiFly. Gradwohl has played guitar since 1978, and plainly avows his career goal, "Make my living with my own music (recording CDs, playing live, etc.)"
When asked to reveal his ideal effect for the guitar, Gradwohl countered with, "Tube Screamer," and then detailed his musicial goals, "Create emotions with good vibes." He hopes to someday study country guitar styles, and is at this time listening to Tribal Tech (Scott Henderson), Brent Mason, Steely Dan and Guano Apes. His utmost satisfaction? "Playing live in front of an audience that really wants to hear my music and playing," he answers decidedly.
Gradwohl details continuing and future projects in his own words, "Making new records with my jazz trio and my band Threeo."
Gradwohl's discography (available here at Guitar Nine Records) includes one solo album ("ABQ") and participation on a number of other recordings (The Powergrade "Working Men", Harald Weinkum "A Bass Bolero").
